I am one of the biggest fans of Jo Malone’s fragrances and often end up adding several new scents throughout the year to my collection. In today’s blog post I’d like to share and review my top 3 all time favourite fragrances from Jo Malone, I hope you’ll feel a similar way to how I do about them.
These aren’t in any particular order by the way! I literally cannot decide which I love the most since all 3 of these have very significant memories behind them for me.
One last note! This is not a sponsored post. I just really love these perfumes and I’m hoping I can convert you into trying them for yourself!
Myrrh & Tonka
Myrrh & Tonka was my first ever fragrance I received from Jo Malone. It was an incredibly thoughtful birthday present from my Mum after I sprayed a sample on my wrist and could not stop talking about it for the rest of the day! This is probably not only one of my favourite Jo Malone perfume’s but I’d go as far to say it’s one of my ALL TIME ever favourite scents. In terms of what I normally go for in a fragrance, I’m a huge fan of anything woody and I am also a huge fan of anything sweet so Myrrh & Tonka is literally a dream come true for me.
The top note contains lavender which is super calming and then it dries down with the myrrh coming out in the heart note and then the tonka bean coming out in the base note. It’s also from their cologne intense range and I can confirm this will last a WHILE on your skin. The dry down is absolutely stunning and I’m saddened to announce that my bottle is completely empty and is it desperate need of replacing! If woody and sweet are what you love, definitely give this a try!
It does live up to it’s ‘intense’ label so if you’re more of a fan of something more subtle read on for my next recommendations!
When buying my first candle from Jo Malone I was given a small sample of their Orange Blossom Body Creme and I kid you not, I went through the sample tub within a week and I couldn’t get enough! I generally prefer a perfume to a body creme when I’m after something for scent so I knew my next fragrance would be Orange Blossom.
I bought the Orange Blossom fragrance at duty-free before my first trip to Sydney and every time I spray this onto myself I’m reminded of the gorgeous Australian sunshine and sandy beaches. I’m not the biggest fan of floral perfumes but Jo Malone’s have always stood out to me and have a really luxurious feel to them. Orange Blossom is very delicate and it’s perfect for the spring or summmer if you want something fresh with the perfect amount of citrus. It also contains orriswood in the base note which gives it a beautiful dry down.
English Pear and Freesia
English Pear and Freesia is the newest addition to my collection and was a Christmas gift from my lovely boyfriend. I’ve literally had it on every single day since I opened it! He got it for me after being told by the sales assistant that it layers beautifully on top of Orange Blossom and it absolutely does. If I had to describe this fragrance in one word, it would be soft. English Pear and Freesia is a very subtle, autumnal scent. When you spray it on you can immediately smell the sweet King William pear in the top note and then it dries down into the freesia in the heart. Totally obsessed with this right now!
I hope you’ll give all these a try next time you visit Jo Malone! Which is your favourite Jo Malone fragrance? I’d love to know which to pick to add my collection next time.
